This just sounds like training military how to land in trees to save their lives if they should need to do so in combat. These are tough people, they aren't snowflakes. Medical personnel were on standby prior to the jump expecting injuries. Make our military strong!

The higher you jump the more the wind messes with you. The wind could be blowing harder at altitude, not dzso fault. Could be pilot error, could be leaving plane to early or to late. I wouldn't jump the gun until investigated. That said there are injuries on most large jumps. All the way, airborne.

Soldiers stuck in the trees and had limb injures. The 87 jumper's took over tree's of pine and uncontrolled steering of parachute and hard landed on tree's.

About the jump injuries were reported to forest hospital's and expected casualties. It's a military action and parachutes involved and tree's/forest area.

More broadly, Trump’s repeated dismissal of the reality of climate change increasingly places him at odds with the average American. Glad to hear that there were no serious injuries. No U.S. paratroopers should lose their lives in training exercises, and this highlights the importance of having good policies in place to ensure that wind speed, weather and other factors including but not limited to chute packing & distribution are correctly accounted for prior to a training jump.

This is my home. Spent many a day and night at Camp Shelby when I was in the National Guard. They couldn't have picked a better hospital to work with than Forrest General. It's an outstanding hospital. I did my clinicals there during nursing school and my family has been patients there many times throughout the years. My sister also worked there as a nurse for several years. So, I'm proud to say, these soldiers are receiving excellent care. It was also smart planning and a great risk assessment to coordinate with Forrest General prior to the excercise. Saves time had the injuries been much worse.

I’m glad to hear that no one was seriously injured or killed. I spent my career jumping out of airplanes, first in the 82nd Airborne and then in Special Forces. I went through trees a few times and was injured twice. The first time not to badly, but the second time was a HAHO when I was in SF. That one left me a paraplegic. It sucked at the time but it’s just a thing.
