Meet Brandon: Army Vet & Future Firefighter.

Brandon Brown: I am Brandon brown. When I
was in high school, I thought I was going to be a basketball player, famous basketball
player. But when I realized my basketball career was over, the only option I thought
about was military. While I was in the military overseas, a lot of my family members started
dying. I started missing out on the ones who were really close to me. That made me think
that I needed to be home more. I needed to take care of my son, I was a single father
and working being a single father, I didn’t think that I had enough time to really put
into school. My grandma had actually passed away in a fire right before I was getting
ready to exist the military. I knew then that that was the second career I wanted to do,
be a firefighter. And so I called around, I searched the internet, and I talked to a
couple of people. They told me about this great program at TCC, that’s when I decided
to enter TCC. The reality has been real, it’s been great, and it’s been awesome. Everyone
on this campus has been amazing. I’m almost done, and I just became a member of Phi Theta
Kappa Honors Society. And I never, I never thought I could do it. If you’re not at
a school or doing anything or you’re thinking about going to school, listen, TCC is a great
school, great program. At Tarrant County College, success is within reach.
