    Stand-off range.

If you can hit your enemy from further away than they can hit you, you have the advantage.

A space-based network of solar-powered rail guns firing ammunition not much bigger or more expensive than BBs will end all ground-launched missile threats.

Pretty much all war in general will end when anyone in a chain of command that mobilizes forces can be targeted from space and individually eliminated, for five cents.

I just gained a lot of respect for Neil deGrasse Tyson! Saying what he said at the end could make him unpopular in his own community, but he's absolutely right… Being the aggressor in an unnecessary and self-serving war is bad, but you shouldn't be so naive as to think that there is never a justifiable reason to go to war.

Also, wow Stephen Colbert comes off as highly unintelligent when he's interviewing someone with some common sense. He really doesn't know how to contribute to a mature conversation.

The right of self defence is not the issue, the issue is science is advancing things that kill much faster than it advances things that heal. High tech military gear is expensive and always follow the money. If more money could be made in actually healing people of illness and disease, or anything else really they'd do it. But since the USAs military budget is bigger than the combined total of the next seven countries it has a lot of money to spend so it pays science to make weapons that kill, in addition as a sweetener they offer a little bit of funding . So scientist make bombs and guns and missiles for the military and as a thank you they get a little bit of money to do actual stuff they really want to do. It's either that or not get funding to go and explore some part of the world to study the mating habits of a rare moth or whatever. And someone else will, so why not just bend over and take one and keep telling yourself it's a good thing to make things that can kill others.

I mean these others must surely have it coming to them right? That's why they are 'the other's and you are one of 'us'. And we can never be one of 'them' because 'we are the good guys' so anyone not 'us' is automatically potentially the bad guys. If we make weapons to kill people it must be the right thing to do because you, me and all of 'us' are the good guys and as good guys we don't do bad things, so anything we do is a good thing. The others, well 'they' are maybe bad guys so if they have weapons that kill people that's obviously a bad thing because they aren't one of 'us'… right? I mean what if we are one of 'them' to the others? That'd be crazy right?! No way someone can think we are the bad guys? Right?

This might be a dumb question. If the definition of a planet is that it should be large enough to cause its gravity to turn it into a sphere and it should clear out its orbit, causing Pluto not to be a planet, then why is Neptune a planet since it hasn't cleared Pluto out of its orbit?

It's easy to talk about stuff nobody can check.
Let me save you some time, not the usual bs nobody knows anything about.
All of this, bar PCR has been done in school by many, all we need is connect the dots.

It is all reproducible and you can always try to falsify something I am open.

So here is how everything really works, I think ;):

We are sitting in some sort of Van Der Graaf generator, we power it
though our activity by ionizing the air that then gets trapped into the
dome it charges, (hence lightnings when overloaded), it powers both the
moon, which is some sort of Pelletier effect, and the sun, which is
some sort of Tesla coil, that acts on noble gasses like on a fluorescent
tube, hence the white cold light of the day even without an apparent
sun. So life powers the celestial vault, in return, the cycles of hot and
cold exactly like in a Polymerase Chain Reaction, sustain life.

We are in an enclosed self-sustaining life support system, the above is
what you really need to know.

What is disguised as science is really a brainwash, I know because I
    used to be you.
